Accidents

¢ The driver of a car that left the road and hit several obstacles was injured about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Franklin County. Darlene J. McMullin, 62, Wellsville was ejected from the 1996 Chevrolet Corsica she was driving, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. She was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center but her condition was unavailable.

The Highway Patrol report said McMullin was northbound on Kansas Highway 33 about 4 1/2 miles south of Wellsville when the car went off the east edge of the road. The car struck the ditch and a metal culvert. That caused the car to become airborne for 81 feet, striking the ground six times before it hit a pole and barbed wire fence.
