A Lawrence woman was injured this morning on the Kansas Turnpike near the Admire exit when her car struck the medial wall.

Terrie Nichols, 59, suffered cuts and bumps and was taken to Newman Regional Health in Emporia, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. She was treated at the hospital and then released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Nichols was driving a 1997 Toyota when it hydroplaned and struck the wall shortly before 7 a.m., the report said.
