Law enforcement report

Lawrence Police said Friday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:

  • 310 calls
  • 34 reports
  • five burglaries
  • one theft
  • six non-injury accidents
  • two injury accidents

Lawrence Police said Friday they’d arrested a third suspect in a melee early Oct. 24 at a party in the 2000 block of Hillview Road.

Police arrested a 19-year-old on suspicion of aggravated burglary and aggravated battery.

Police allege he was part of a group of people who returned to a party after being kicked out, forced their way inside and battered a group of people inside the home. One victim suffered head injuries and was taken to a Kansas City hospital.

Two other suspects were arrested in early November.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A resident of Naismith Hall, 1800 Naismith Drive, told police someone entered his room during winter break and stole a $2,400 Macintosh laptop computer and some Play Station II games. The theft happened between 3 p.m. Dec. 17 and 3 p.m. Tuesday.
  • A 22-year-old Lawrence woman reported 100 compact discs worth an estimated $1,200 stolen between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 14 from the 800 block of West 25th Street.
