Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone broke a window at Border Bandido, 1528 W. 23rd St., and stole $1,000 in cash, according to a police report. The theft happened between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Injury accidents

  • A 24-year-old Lawrence man was recovering at Overland Park Regional Medical Center on Thursday after being ejected from a sport utility vehicle in a wreck in Johnson County.

Kenneth R. Preist, 23, was driving an Isuzu Trooper south about 2:15 a.m. on Kansas Highway 7 at 119th Street when he crossed a bridge, lost control on a thin layer of ice, slid into the median, rolled and came to rest in the northbound lanes.

A passenger, Ronald E. Johnson Jr., 35, Olathe, suffered minor injuries.
