Auditions for “Enchanted April” by Matthew Barber and adapted from the novel by Elizabeth von Arnim will be 7 p.m. Jan. 25-26 at Lawrence Community Theatre, 1501 N.H.

The play follows two proper London housewives who rent a villa in Italy for a holiday away from their bleak marriages. In sun-drenched surroundings they rediscover laughter, learn new truths and find romance.

The cast will include: Lotty Wilton, a Hampstead housewife; Mellersh Wilton, her husband, a solicitor; Rose Arnott, a Hampstead housewife; Frederick Arnott, her husband, a writer; Caroline Bramble, a socialite; Antony Wilding, an artist; Mrs. Graves, a London matron; and Costanza, an Italian housekeeper

Jeanne Chinn will direct the show. Scripts may be checked out from the theatre office with a $10 deposit. Performances are scheduled to run March 3-13.
