Law enforcement report

  • A 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jonathan Lusk, 23, Lawrence, was heavily damaged when it caught fire about 5 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 70 about 4 miles east of the Shawnee County line, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority.

Lusk was not injured. The fire, thought to have started in the transmission, was extinguished by the Lecompton Fire Department, KTA dispatchers said. The truck was in the westbound lanes. One lane was blocked for a short period by emergency vehicles, a dispatcher said.
