‘Candidate selector’ tool available online for voters

Voters trying to pick three out of the nine candidates running in Tuesday’s Lawrence City Commission primary now have a new tool — a candidate selector.

The online tool was put together by the Journal-World and World Online staff members from J-W questionnaires that were given to the nine candidates.

Those using the selector can go through the questions sent to the candidates and check off the answers they most agree with. The answers don’t show who made the statements.

The selector tallies up the total number of answers you agree with. And the results are then displayed, showing you the ranking of the candidates.

Please note that this is meant to be fun and educational — but shouldn’t necessarily be used as the de facto way of making such an important decision. We encourage you to learn as much as you can about each candidate.

Candidates running in Tuesday’s city commission primary are: David Holroyd, Greg Robinson, Tom Bracciano, George Grieb, David Schauner (incumbent), Jim Carpenter, Sue Hack (incumbent), Mike Amyx and Doug Holiday.

The top six finishers will move on to the April 5 general election.
