House sends bill about breast-feeding to Senate

? The Kansas House gave its final approval Thursday to a bill that would allow mothers to breast-feed in public.

The 118-5 vote sends the measure to the Senate for consideration.

<p>A change made in the House would require that mothers breast-feed “discreetly.”</p>
<p>That change angered Lawrence breast-feeding advocates, who were instrumental in getting the issue before the Legislature. They said use of the word “discreetly” was vague and open to different interpretations.</p>
<p>They said they would try to get the word removed from the bill in the Senate.</p>
