Domestic dispute leads to arrest

Lecompton — Douglas County Sheriff’s officers arrested a Lecompton man Wednesday night after a domestic disturbance and stand-off at a mobile home.

Officers converged on the Mobile Lodge Park about 7:30 p.m. where a man had been fighting with his girlfriend, Sheriff Ken McGovern said. The woman fled from the man, who then locked himself in the mobile home, McGovern said.

The suspect refused to come out of the mobile home, and officers forced their way inside about 9 p.m., McGovern said. The man, in his 20s, tried to flee but was caught and taken to the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence, McGovern said. The man was not armed, and no one was injured, McGovern said. Formal charges are pending.
