Law enforcement report
- Lawrence Police recovered a 1992 Chevrolet truck early Thursday morning in the 1700 block of Massachusetts. The teal pickup truck was from Jay Wolf Auto in Kansas City, Kan.
- A 36-year-old Lawrence woman reported that an aggravated burglary and theft happened Tuesday afternoon in the 1700 block of Lake Alvamar Drive.
Lawrence Police Capt. David Cobb said the woman returned home after running errands and found a man in her garage. The man said he was the pool man, Cobb said. The unknown man got into his truck and left.
Cobb said the man had packed up about $3,935 worth of items belonging to the woman, but they hadn’t put them in the truck yet.
The truck was described as being aqua with a pink stripe and a Missouri plate on the front.
- Douglas County Sheriff deputies are investigating a forgery case involving a box of checks stolen from a mailbox in the 1600 block of East 818 Road. A 43-year-old Lawrence woman reported the checks were stolen Dec. 2. At this time, 16 checks have been written totaling $5,140.71.
Burglaries and thefts reported
- A 21-year-old Target employee reported the theft of merchandise totaling $578.65 that occurred Monday afternoon at SuperTarget, 3201 Iowa. The theft happened through the criminal use of a financial card.
