In a Dec. 19 story about greenhouse gases, The Associated Press erroneously reported the Energy Department’s figures for greenhouse gases in 2003 and 2004 in millions of metric tons. In fact, the gases rose to 7.12 billion metric tons in 2004, from 6.98 billion metric tons in 2003.
