Six bars searched in gambling raid

? Authorities have seized 24 electronic slot and poker machines they say were illegally installed at six Topeka bars.

The simultaneous execution of search warrants and confiscation of the gambling machines Friday were the result of a lengthy investigation by Atty. Gen. Phill Kline and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, said Whitney Watson, a spokesman for Kline.

No one was taken into custody following the raids. Each of the six establishments was allowed to reopen following the removal of machines, though that task took several hours.

Watson said the search warrants were executed without incident.
