Injury Accidents

¢ A Lawrence man was struck by a car Wednesday night while walking in the center of a highway northeast of town.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Robert A. Reed, 33, was walking at 9:21 p.m. in the center of northbound lane on Kansas Highway 24-40, in Leavenworth County, when he was struck by a 2005 Honda driven by Betty M. Hart, 78, Kansas City, Kan.

Reed was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., according to the highway patrol. He was later released, a hospital official said Thursday afternoon.

Hart, who wore a seat belt, was not injured.
