Author L. D. Harkrader, of Tonganoxie, will present a reading from her new children’s book, “Airball: My Life in Briefs,” followed by a discussion and book signing, at Oread Books in the Kansas Union.

The event will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 22 before the Kansas University men’s home basketball game against Northern Colorado. It is free and open to the public.

“Airball: My Life in Briefs” (Roaring Brook Press) is a novel written for children in fourth through seventh grades that is filled with KU basketball tradition.

Harkrader earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art from KU in 1988. She has written eight nonfiction books for children and has ghost-written three books in the popular Animorphs series.
