KU School of Fine Arts creates career center

Kansas University’s School of Fine Arts recently joined a small group of universities that have created a career services office specifically for fine arts students. The new KU School of Fine Arts Career Services Center will assist undergraduate and graduate fine arts students with career preparation.

To make the fine arts career services a reality, the School of Fine Arts Student Advisory Council endorsed using differential tuition money to hire a career services coordinator for the school. Dina P. Evans was named to the position this summer, and she started her appointment in July.

She plans to expand connections with School of Fine Arts alumni and potential employers. As part of this plan, the Career Services Center will have the second annual School of Fine Arts Careers in the Arts Day in April 2006.

The career center is now open to fine arts students and is located in Room 450 Murphy Hall.
