Lawrence Police said Friday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:
- 302 calls
- 36 reports
- two burglaries
- three thefts
- 13 noninjury accidents
- A 20-year-old Lawrence woman told police an acquaintance raped her early on the morning of April 9, according to a police report released Friday. She was incapacitated by alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident, according to a report.
It happened between 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. April 9. She reported it Sunday.
Police are still investigating.
Injury accidents
- A 41-year-old Lawrence man suffered injuries Wednesday night after stepping in front of a car at 21st Street and Naismith Drive, according to a report.
The pedestrian, Charles W. Glover, was cited for failure to yield the right of way and taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to a report.
Burglaries and thefts reported
- A couple living in the 700 block of Missouri Street reported someone damaged a window screen at their home and stole more than $1,000 worth of diamond jewelry. The theft happened between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday.
