Lawrence was getting murky, cool weather this morning. But there is some hope for sunshine this afternoon, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“By this afternoon, we should see some gradual clearing as the clouds begin to break,” Schack said.

At 8:15 a.m., the temperature was 51 degrees, with northwesterly 12-mph winds making the wind chill 47.
Today’s high will climb to 61 by late this afternoon, Schack said.

Lawrence is in for some winter-like weather overnight, as the low falls to 35 by early Thursday morning, she said,

“It’s a chilly night tonight, but a nice afternoon for Thursday,” Schack said. Thursday’s high will climb to 68, with sunny, spring-like weather returning. .

The temperature will warm up even more on Friday afternoon. Friday’s morning low will be 42, with the high climbing to 72 by late afternoon.
