Injury accident

• A 45-year-old Gardner woman died Sunday morning in a motorcycle and tractor wreck west of Overbrook in Osage County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

The wreck that killed Sharon L. Tapp happened at 8:10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 56 about 3 miles west of Overbrook.

Tapp was riding on the back of a westbound 1997 Harley Davidson driven by Charles J. Tapp, 54, Gardner. As the driver tried to pass a westbound tractor, the tractor made a left turn off the highway.

Charles Tapp swerved to avoid the tractor, then lost control of the motorcycle.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. The driver of the tractor, Keith E. Badger, 43, Carbondale, wasn’t injured.
