  • Lawrence Police said Tuesday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:
  • 293 calls
  • 40 reports
  • Six burglaries
  • Seven thefts
  • Five noninjury accidents
  • A 21-year-old Haskell Indian Nations University student was arrested early Sunday morning after he pulled a knife on a man at Roe Cloud Hall, 155 Indian Ave., Lawrence Police reported. Someone knocked the knife away from the student before police arrived, the report said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was reported missing Friday from the 600 block of Mississippi Street, a 36-year-old Lawrence man reported to police. The motorcycle was valued at $7,000.
  • Two women are being sought after they allegedly took 36 shirts from American Eagle Outfitters, 619 Mass. The women entered the store Thursday afternoon, according to a police report. One woman distracted the store clerk while a second woman grabbed the shirts and ran out of the store. Losses were listed at $1,062.
  • A car was vandalized sometime Saturday night while it was parked in the 1100 block of Tennessee Street. All of the windows were damaged. A stereo was taken along with several compact discs. A 21-year-old Lawrence man reported the incident. Damage and losses were listed at $1,250.
  • A 2003 Chevrolet Malibu valued at $12,000 was taken sometime Friday night or Saturday morning from the 3300 block of Iowa Street. A 32-year-old woman reported the theft to police.
  • A 2002 Ford Expedition was taken sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning from the 1400 block of East 24th Street. A 32-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft to police. The vehicle was valued at $18,993.
  • Hertz of Lawrence, 1120 E. 23rd St., called police Sept. 22 and reported that a 24-foot moving truck was missing, police said Tuesday. The truck was valued at $10,000.
