‘Sex and City’ star dating woman

New York — “Sex and the City” has taken on a whole new meaning for Cynthia Nixon.

The actress, who just won an Emmy for her role as Miranda Hobbes in the hit HBO comedy, is in a relationship with another woman, a source who works with Nixon told The Associated Press on Friday.

The New York Daily News and the New York Post reported Friday that Nixon, 38, had been dating a woman since January. The woman is neither in the public eye nor living with Nixon.

“We will not confirm or deny anything,” Nixon’s publicist, Carrie Ross, told AP.

“My private life is private,” Nixon told the Daily News. “But at the same time, I have nothing to hide. So what I will say is that I am very happy.”

The actress split in 2003 with photographer and high school sweetheart Danny Mozes, whom she’d been with for 15 years. They share custody of their two children.

Chan dreams of being ‘real actor’

Singapore — Martial arts star Jackie Chan claims Hollywood limits roles for Asians and says it’s time he became a “real actor” by taking on roles other than as a kung fu fighter.

“It’s all the same, cop from Hong Kong, cop from China. Jet Li, Chow-Yun Fat and I all face the same problem: Our roles are limited,” said Chan, 50, referring to other Chinese action stars who have sought roles in Hollywood movies.

The acrobatic, high-flying action hero was in Singapore to promote “New Police Story.”

“I’ve always wanted to change, to become a real actor, like Robert De Niro. I don’t want to be seen as an action hero anymore.”

Harry in the Army now

London — Prince Harry, second son of Prince Charles, has passed his military academy entrance exams and will join the British army early next year.

The 20-year-old won a place at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst after four days of examinations, which included doing 50 sit-ups within two minutes and 44 push-ups in the same time.

“The last four days have been very challenging, both mentally and physically, but it’s also been an enjoyable experience,” Harry said in a statement released from Clarence House, his father’s office.

“I have set my sights on joining the army, and I am really looking forward to going to Sandhurst next year.”

Garner wins achievement award

Los Angeles — Nearly 50 years after he captivated the public as Bret Maverick, television’s first cowardly cowboy hero, James Garner will receive the Screen Actors Guild’s Life Achievement Award.

Garner, 76, also won an Emmy as Jim Rockford, the laconic, underachieving private eye on television’s long-running 1970s hit “The Rockford Files,” and was nominated for an Oscar as the small-town pharmacist who befriends single mom Sally Field in the 1985 film “Murphy’s Romance.”

He will be honored at SAG’s Feb. 5 awards ceremony, which will air live on TNT.
