Lawrence Police said Friday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:
- 215 calls
- 25 reports
- three thefts
- seven burglaries
- 18 noninjury accidents
- Lawrence Police arrested a father and son Thursday night on suspicion of having ingredients to make methamphetamine.
A description of items seized wasn’t available Friday.
The father, a 45-year-old Olathe man, and son, a 29-year-old Lawrence man, were arrested after an officer spotted their van with a broken light at 7:49 p.m. traveling west on 27th Street, according to a report.
They were booked into Douglas County Jail and later released on bond.
Burglaries and thefts reported
- A Haskell Indian Nations University student reported a set of golf clubs, a golf bag and golf shoes worth $1,520 taken from campus between 11 p.m. Monday and 3:50 p.m. Tuesday.
- A Douglas County woman who reported more than $64,000 in property stolen by an acquaintance also was the victim of forgeries from her Douglas County Bank account. The suspect, listed on a police report as the woman’s child, wrote more than $2,000 in bogus checks starting in July, according to reports.
