The next Downtown Friday Gallery Walk has been scheduled for the evening before the 10th annual Lawrence ArtWalk. The following venues will be open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday featuring artists who work in a variety of media:

• Ad Astra Galleria, 205 W. Eighth St., 856-4653, featuring a preview exhibition for the 10th annual Lawrence ArtWalk, through Oct. 24.
• Celestial Iron Works, Back to the Garden, 619 N. Second St., featuring metal sculpture by Steen Kjorlie, ongoing.
• Diane’s Artisan Gallery, 801 1/2 Mass., Suite C, 856-1155, featuring Lawrence resident David Hamby’s hand turned and handcrafted writing pens in a variety of exotic woods and styles; Tasha Rose’s hand-dyed silk/vintage kimono scarves; and George Bucquet’s sculptural glass bowls, ongoing. Hamby will be on hand during the gallery walk to discuss his process, materials and styles.
