Don’t miss chance to vote in Best of Lawrence poll

What makes Lawrence so special? Is it the live music scene, restaurants, campus, downtown or the parks? Maybe it’s your favorite cup of coffee, art gallery or record store.

Whatever the reason, Journal-World readers have the opportunity to give praise where it’s due in the Best of Lawrence 2004 reader’s poll.

The ballot, which made its debut Monday, will appear in the Journal-World Wednesday and Friday. The ballot also appeared in Tuesday’s Deadwood Edition of lawrence.com, which will carry it again Tuesday.

Balloting also may be done online at www.lawrence.com/best.

The “Best of” categories are divided into four broad areas:

  • Best food, drink and entertainment.
  • Best restaurants.
  • Best goods and services.
  • Best people.

The deadline for ballot submissions is Oct. 25. More rules:

  • Only ballots that appeared in the Journal-World, Deadwood Edition or online will be accepted. No photocopies.
  • Ballot must be at least 50 percent filled out to qualify.
  • Entry must include name, address and phone number.

Winners will be announced in special sections in the Nov. 9 editions of the Journal-World and Deadwood Edition.
