84-year-old leaps to death on I-35
Traffic was snarled for hours Saturday morning on Interstate 35 after a woman leapt to her death from an overpass, authorities said.
Phyllis Shanks, 84, of Mission, was struck by several vehicles and was dead when authorities arrived.
No other information was immediately available.

Kansan to face abuse charges in 2 states
The husband of a Kansas day-care provider who recently pleaded no contest to sexually abusing two of his wife’s young charges faces additional abuse charges in Missouri.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Rockey D. Rash, 44, of Atchison, Kan., with four counts of statutory sodomy, five counts of child molestation and two counts of statutory rape.
The latest charges stem from allegations that Rash sexually abused a boy, 6, and girl, 7, in 1995.
Rockey Rash pleaded no contest Sept. 30 in Atchison County District Court to charges of aggravated sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and attempted aggravated sodomy. The victims were a 3-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl.
His wife, Peggy Rash faces a misdemeanor charge of operating an unlicensed day-care center.
