LHS clinic to teach spirit to ‘Little Lions’

The Lawrence High School Little Lions Spirit Clinic will be held at 1 p.m. today in the high school’s gym, 1901 La.

The clinic, which lasts until 4 p.m., will teach youths from kindergarten to sixth grade how to perform cheers and dance routines. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m.

There is a $30 fee for the clinic, which also covers the cost of a T-shirt and pompom.

The group will perform Friday prior to halftime of the LHS-Olathe South football game at Haskell Stadium.

Guide likes KU

The new edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges has listed Kansas University as one of 20 “best buys for remarkable educational opportunities at a relatively modest cost.”

The 2005 edition also gives KU four out of five stars in the categories of academics, social life and quality of life.

It calls Lawrence a “great town for college students” and campus “one of the most gorgeous in the United States.”

KU is the only Kansas university featured in the guide.
