Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A burglar pried open the cash register and removed $549 from the Sonic Drive-In at 1015 E. 23rd St. About 2:20 a.m. Wednesday Lawrence Police discovered a door open at the business and a burglar alarm going off, according to a report. There were no signs of a forced entry, police said.
  • Someone used a sharp object to scratch the side of a Honda Civic , a 26-year-old Lawrence woman told Lawrence Police. The incident occurred overnight Nov. 10 in the 2200 block of Harper Street. Damage was listed at $1,000.
  • A 1996 Honda Accord was vandalized during the early morning hours of Wednesday while it was parked in the 200 block of West 12th Street. Damage to the hood and roof was estimated at $1,100. Police were notified by a 45-year-old Lawrence man.
