Art Affair to open Holiday Show

Baldwin — Art Affair, a professional gallery operated by Baker University students, will open its third annual Holiday Show Friday. It will remain on view through Dec. 17.

An opening reception will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the gallery, Seventh and High streets, Baldwin.

Youth musicians to play joint concert

The Lawrence Youth Symphony and the All City Honor Band will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central Junior High School, 1400 Mass.

Admission is free.

The Youth Symphony is comprised of orchestra and band students in grades seven through 10. The All City Honor Band includes freshmen from Lawrence’s four junior highs.

The respective directors of these bands are Johannah Cox, Central; Scott Robinson, South; Deborah Woodall, Southwest; and Patrick Kelly, West Junior High.

The orchestra is directed by Lynn Basow, who is assisted by Sondra Mosley and Pat Transue. The band will be directed by Avian Bear, director at Free State High School, and Mike Jones, director at Lawrence High School.
