  • Lawrence Police reported that on Halloween weekend — Friday through Sunday — they handled 70 noise complaints and 32 alarm calls. They also handled:
  • 954 calls
  • 133 reports
  • 18 burglaries
  • eight thefts
  • 25 noninjury accidents
  • two injury accidents

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone broke into a 16-year-old Lawrence High School student’s Lexus and stole $1,763 in property, including clothing, a cell phone, makeup and a camera, according to a report. The theft happened between midnight and 1 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Harrison Place.
  • A 22-year-old Kansas University student reported $2,200 damage to her vehicle and miscellaneous items stolen during an auto burglary between 4 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Friday in the 2500 block of Winterbrook Drive.
