Editors to dicuss Med Center book
The editors of the recently-published “Medicine on the Kansas Prairie: Celebrating Fifty Years of the School of Medicine Rural Preceptorship Program-University of Kansas” will appear from noon to 1:30 p.m. today at Oread Books in the Kansas Union.
The commencement day event is free and open to the public.
Mary Beth Gentry is associate director of the office of external affairs at the Kansas University School of Medicine. Sharon Bass is associate professor of journalism at KU.
The book commemorates the 50th anniversary of the program, which sends young doctors across the state, extends medical care, provides front-line experiences and attempts to interest more students in rural care.
Deadline approaching for literary contest
The Kansas Authors Club is accepting entries through June 19 for its 2004 literary contest.

Monetary prizes will be awarded at the centennial convention Oct. 22-24 in Topeka.
