Fox offers ‘people’s choice’ baseball fare

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the 75th Baseball All-Star Game (7 p.m., Fox) at Minute Maid Park (formerly Enron Field) in Houston. Am I just getting crabby, or do these spectacles mean less every summer?

Call me an elitist, but I’d care more about a team chosen by players, coaches and managers than the current crop elected by anybody with an Internet connection and time on their hands. Critics say that water cartels will monopolize a finite resource that should belong to people as a basic human right.
