Burglaries and thefts reported
- Lawrence Police released additional information Friday about a Thursday night car theft. About 10 p.m. Thursday, the owner of a 1981 white Buick Regal opened the door of his apartment in the 1400 block of East 24th Street and discovered his car was being taken. Two people got into the car and drove it to the 2200 block of Haskell Avenue, where the car’s engine stalled. The men fled on foot. Officers caught and arrested a 27-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man on suspicion of felony theft and obstruction of legal procedures. The second suspect turned himself in Friday afternoon to police.
