A rewarding day’s work

Daryl Messer, far right, received a ,000 reward for his role in the identification of a suspect in three Lawrence bank robberies. He received the award Friday during a ceremony attended by, from left, Debra Black and Mike Norris of the Kansas Banking Assn., and University National Bank president Todd Sutherland. Messer reported a man trying to exchange dye-stained bills for coins at the car wash where he works. The man was later arrested and charged in the robberies.
