Lawrence Police said Tuesday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:

  • 176 calls
  • 13 reports
  • one burglary
  • four thefts
  • one noninjury accident

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone broke into a van and stole nearly $7,000 in tools belonging to a Lawrence foundation-repair business, according to a police report. The theft happened between 10 a.m. Friday and 5:15 p.m. Monday as a van was parked at a home in the 1700 block of North 600 Road.
  • First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt., is missing a $2,000 keyboard. The instrument and its case disappeared between Nov. 14 and Nov.17, according to a report.
