New York — A Paris Hilton autographed stapler?

Yeah, they’ve got that.

Office retailer Staples is having a “Staplers of the Stars” online charity auction of celebrity-signed staplers. With more than 140 celebs in the mix, Hilton’s stapler is currently leading the pack at $1,005.

Hilton is followed by Donald Trump and Katie Couric, whose autographed staplers are each going for $800. Other staplers being bid on are signed by Ringo Starr, Kobe Bryant, Bill Gates, Rudy Guiliani and Cher.

All of the proceeds go to a charity of each star’s choosing. Since the auction opened Nov. 16, more than 2,600 bids have been placed. The staplers are available to bid on until Dec. 6 at www.staples.com.

Investigation continues into Vibe Awards stabbing

Los Angeles — Police and probation officials have been reviewing video of the melee at the Vibe Awards show to determine whether Marion “Suge” Knight played a role in the altercation.

The rap producer has denied any involvement in the incident in which a man struck Dr. Dre twice, sparking a brawl in which the attacker was stabbed and seriously injured.

Dre, who real name is Andre Young, met with authorities Monday at the Santa Monica police station and demanded that his attacker, Jimmy “James” Johnson, be charged with assault and battery.

Videotape shows Johnson punching Dre on Nov. 16 at the second annual awards show. Johnson was then stabbed, allegedly by Young Buck, a rapper who is a protege of Dr. Dre.

Prince Bernhard dies at 93

Amsterdam, Netherlands — Prince Bernhard, the German-born father of the Netherlands’ Queen Beatrix whose service as a pilot for the Allies earned him the respect of his adopted country, died Wednesday. He was 93.

Bernhard was diagnosed with cancer in mid-November, and he was moved Wednesday to Utrecht University Medical Hospital, where he later died.

The prince was living at the royal palace in Soestdijk, which he shared for six decades with his wife, the former Queen Juliana, who died in March at the age of 94.

Bernhard gained respect from the Dutch with his service as a pilot for the Allies in World War II and his help in rebuilding the Netherlands, devastated by Nazi occupation.

He helped found the World Wildlife Fund in 1961 and became its first president. He also is credited with establishing the Bilderberg group — a secretive annual discussion forum for prominent politicians, thinkers and businessmen.

Prince Harry’s career in military on hold

London — Prince Harry will delay his entry into Britain’s prestigious military academy to allow him to fully recover from a knee injury, royal officials said.

Harry was to enroll at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in January. But the office of his father, Prince Charles, said Tuesday that Harry wouldn’t start until May.

The 20-year-old, who is third in line to the throne, injured his knee several months ago while he was training with the army before his entry test for Sandhurst.

His knee has continued to trouble him in recent months, and the injury sidelined him from playing polo during a stay at a polo farm in Argentina.

“While I am disappointed that I cannot start as planned in January, I am still very much looking forward to starting my Army career next year,” he said.
