Dole institute program examines Iraq situation

Several scholars, journalists and government officials will come next month to the Dole Institute of Politics on Kansas University’s west campus to discuss the situation in Iraq.

“One Year after ‘Victory’ in Iraq: International and Domestic Perspectives” will run May 7 and 8. Keynote speakers will be James Lindsay of the Council on Foreign Relations and author of “America Unbound: The Bush Revolution in Foreign Policy,” and James Pfiffner of George Mason University, author of “The Character Factor: How We Judge America’s Presidents.”

The May 7 event, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., will focus on “The Iraq War and the International Order.” The May 8 event, on “The Iraq War, Presidential Politics and the Patriot Act,” will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
