In a story that ran April 15 in the Journal-World about a study comparing two colon cancer detection methods, standard colonoscopy versus virtual colonoscopy, The Associated Press imprecisely reported that the flexible viewing tube used in the standard procedure is about as thick as a garden hose. It is about a half-inch thick, or about as thick as a finger, according to the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
