Authorities seek help in finding guitar thief
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help solving a recent burglary northwest of Lecompton.
Between 7:45 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, someone took $2,400 in electronics and musical equipment from a home in the 1900 section of East 100 Road. Items reported missing included a six-string and 12-string electric guitar and amplifiers. They belonged to a 40-year-old man who lives at the address.
People with information about the theft can call the Crime Stoppers hot line, 843-TIPS (8477). Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
KU hospital to offer free flu shots Saturday
Kansas City, Kan. — The University of Kansas Hospital will give free flu shots from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its 11th annual Drive-Thru Flu Shot event at 39th Street and Rainbow Boulevard in Kansas City, Kan.
Flu shots are recommended for those at high risk for the disease, including people older than 50 or those with weakened immune systems. Recipients must be older than 18. Pregnant women should consult a doctor first.
No appointment is necessary. The shots are free, but the hospital will accept donations of nonperishable food at the event.
