Law enforcement report

A Lawrence man injured in a Sunday traffic accident involving a car and a motorcycle was in fair condition Tuesday at a Kansas City-area hospital, a spokesman said. James D. Pine, 60, was driving the 2000 Suzuki motorcycle when it collided with a 2003 Mazda driven by Andrew M. Rappard, Overbrook, Douglas County Sheriff’s Lt. Kathy Tate said. The motorcycle was southbound on East 900 Road at about 3:40 p.m. when it attempted to turn east onto East 902 Road and was struck by the northbound Mazda, Tate said. A passenger on the motorcycle, Barbara Pine, 57, Lawrence, was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released, a hospital official said. Rappard refused transportation to a hospital, Tate said.
