Four to be honored at KU All-University Supper

Three Kansas University graduates and a KU benefactor will each be honored Friday with one of KU’s highest awards — the Distinguished Service Citation.

The awards, given annually, will be presented at the All-University Supper, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Kansas Union ballroom.

This year’s winners are George L. Brown, Arlington, Va., a former Tuskegee Airman and Colorado legislator; Adele Hall, Mission Hills, a Kansas City-area philanthropist; Liliana Mayo, Peru, who founded the Centro Ann Sullivan del Peru, a center for autistic children; and Vernon L. Smith, Arlington, Va., who won the 2002 Nobel Prize for economics.

Others expected to attend the dinner are classified and unclassified staff leaders, university governance members, Chancellor’s Student Award winners, senior class officers and past service citation winners.
