Tribal topics on tap at roundtable talks

Preserving languages and tribal histories through museums will be one of the topics during a series of roundtable discussions Thursday sponsored by Kansas University’s Center for Indigenous Nations Studies.

The discussions will be from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Kansas Union’s Big 12 Room.

The events will conclude with a 7 p.m. banquet at the union to honor six graduating master’s degree students. The annual Crystal Eagle Award for American Indian leadership also will be presented.

LMH to teach parents about child nutrition

Lawrence Memorial Hospital is sponsoring “Feeding Your Child: Birth to Age Three” from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Registered dietitian Staci Hendrickson will present this free program highlighting nutrition issues related to feeding young children.

Topics will include introducing children to solid food; child-friendly foods that adults also will like and weight concerns.
