Kansas City, Mo. The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has announced the programs for its 46th season.
The company will present four full-length operas in their original languages with easy-to-read translations above the stage.
The season will open with a romantic blockbuster: "Romeo et Juliette" by Charles Gounod. In November, Donizetti's light romantic comedy "The Elixir of Love" returns to the Lyric stage after 13 years. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" comes in March, and the season finale in May will be Mozart's "Don Giovanni."
