This weekend, Lawrence Community Theatre wraps up its run of “Miracles,” a play about an autistic teen-ager who learns to write poetry through a controversial teaching method. The show, which questions whether miracles really exist, continues through Sunday.

Also, Lawrence Open Shelter is sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day Party and fund-raiser to benefit the homeless. The festivities, scheduled for Sunday at St. John’s School, will include Irish music.

And organizers are preparing for the 23rd annual Lawrence Art Auction. A preview exhibition of items that will be up for bid on April 12 opens Thursday at the Lawrence Arts Center.
