2 suspects charged in sex assault of teen boy

? Police are looking for more young boys who may have been assaulted by two men charged Monday with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old runaway they met through a telephone chat line.

Thomas Luce, 46, of Independence, was charged with one count of statutory sodomy, and Juan Chester, 39, of Kansas City, faces two counts of the same charge. Both men told police they are infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Authorities are investigating claims by one of the men that the two might have had sex with as many as 25 other boys. Independence Police are looking for other victims or anyone with more information about the two men.

Luce, a registered sex offender in Jackson County for sexual misconduct, and Chester were being held on $250,000 bond. The 13-year-old was found hiding in the bathtub at Luce’s apartment around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The boy’s mother had reported him missing on Thursday, a couple of days after he had disappeared.
