Natalie Gump, 77, who was injured Nov. 13 in a two-vehicle, head-on collision near Midland Junction, was in serious condition Monday at University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.

Law enforcement report

Police arrested a 49-year-old Lawrence man early Sunday on suspicion of deliberately ramming another vehicle, punching out its window and trying to choke the driver about 1:35 a.m. at Seventh and Maple streets. The victim in the case is a 22-year-old Lawrence woman. She said she did not know the suspect, and a police report gave no indications of what caused the fight.

  • An $1,800 laptop computer belonging to Haskell Indian Nations University was taken between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday from 155 Indian Ave., according to a report.
  • A 1993 Pontiac Grand Am worth $3,000 disappeared Friday from the 5000 block of Clinton Parkway. A $1,200 Compaq laptop computer inside the car was taken. The items belonged to a 40-year-old Lawrence woman.
  • A 1998 Toyota Camry worth $8,500 was taken between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday from the east alley in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street. It belonged to a 23-year-old Kansas University student.
  • A 1996 Mazda Protege worth $4,000 was taken between 7:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. Friday from the 500 block of Eldridge Street. It belonged to a 48-year-old Lawrence woman.
  • Someone took a $4,000 Sony video projector between Dec. 8 and Friday from the Wagnon Student Athlete Center on the Kansas University campus.
  • Someone took a bicycle and lock worth $1,430 from Learned Hall between 11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Thursday.
