Three injured, one possibly killed, in four-car collision
Emergency crews Sunday afternoon were at the scene of a four-car collision west of Lawrence that injured at least three people and caused one possible fatality.
The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. on the Kansas Highway 10 bypass just north of U.S. Highway 40.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical responded.
Highway Patrol troopers were too busy investigating the accident to comment, but at least two people were taken away on air ambulance helicopters and one in an ambulance. It appeared that one body was covered by a sheet in a vehicle. According to emergency radio traffic, there was one fatality.
No other information was available Sunday afternoon.
