Costas show to talk ‘Bull’

New York — Stars of the 1988 film “Bull Durham” — recently snubbed by baseball’s Hall of Fame — will talk about baseball, movies and politics next month when “On the Record With Bob Costas” begins its third season on HBO.

Tim Robbins and his longtime companion, Susan Sarandon, will be among the guests joining Costas on May 2. They’ll revisit the classic baseball film about life in the minor leagues in North Carolina. The roundtable session will include actor Robert Wuhl and writer-director Ron Shelton.

Robbins, 44, and Sarandon, 56, had been invited to appear this weekend at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., to commemorate the movie’s 15th anniversary. But Hall of Fame President Dale Petroskey withdrew the invitation because of the couple’s antiwar views.

Puck gets in the Thicke of things

Burbank, Calif. — “Growing Pains” TV dad Alan Thicke received 30 stitches and lost five teeth after he was struck by a puck while practicing for a celebrity fund-raising hockey game, his spokesman said.

The 56-year-old actor was skating Tuesday at a Burbank ice rink with “Alias” television star Michael Vartan and eight other players when he was hit in the face, Jerry Digney said.

The actor was treated at a Burbank hospital and was recuperating at his Santa Barbara home, Digney said.

The Canadian-born actor was practicing for a May fund-raiser in New York for that city’s police and fire departments. Thicke, who has played hockey since he was 5, said he still hoped to take part in the game.

Carrey ups child support

Los Angeles — Jim Carrey has reached a child support agreement with his ex-wife, who had gone to court to increase the $10,000 a month she said the actor was paying.

Carrey’s publicist, Marleah Leslie, confirmed the settlement Wednesday. She declined to discuss terms but said both sides were satisfied.

In court documents filed in January, Melissa Carrey said a significant increase from the $10,000 was needed so the couple’s 15-year-old daughter, Jane, could continue to enjoy “the prestigious lifestyle” to which she had become accustomed. She also said Carrey had an extraordinarily high income, a $25 million jet and two multimillion-dollar homes in the Los Angeles area, while she and her daughter lived in a modest home in Hollywood.

Carrey and his ex-wife, who were married in 1987-95, reached the agreement shortly before a court hearing on the matter was to take place Monday.
