You have to hand it to Al Roker. The morning-show weatherman will do just about anything to get on evening television. A few months back he submitted to the indignity of gastric bypass surgery for a “Dateline” camera crew. Tonight, he becomes an animated character on the teen-centric cartoon “The Proud Family” (5 p.m., Disney).

“The Proud Family,” an NAACP Image Award-winning cartoon, takes a few liberties with Roker’s sunny personality. He appears as a zoot suit-wearing owner of a teen nightclub that becomes the destination of choice for Penny and her adolescent pals.

• The Cartoon Network invites viewers to spend the whole night in an animated groove. And I do mean the whole night. “The Powerpuff Girls Sleepover” (7 p.m., Cartoon Network) will unfold over 10 hours.

The marathon kicks off with the episode “Slumbering with the Enemy,” in which Mojo crashes a slumber party with the girls, and wraps up near dawn with a repeat of “Too Pooped to Puff.”

• Ed’s off-and-on thing for Carol, and his new relationship with Frankie, come to a head on the third-season finale of “Ed” (8 p.m., NBC). Postponed from an earlier date.
• Scheduled on “NOW with Bill Moyers” (8 p.m., PBS): A former gun-industry insider says weapons merchants deliberately sell weapons to criminals.
• Gloria Reuben (“ER”) guest-stars as the mother of a missing girl on “Law & Order: SVU” (9 p.m., NBC).
• Learn the secrets of royal chefs on “Eat Like a King” (9 p.m., Food), a glance back at the cooking secrets of the 16th century.
