Anything But Joey releases CD

Anything But Joey will be host to a CD release party at 9 p.m. Saturday at The Granada, 1020 Mass. The band will also debut its video with the 2003 Women of KU before the show. Mp3s from the band’s new album, “Come Out Fighting,” are available at ljworld.com.

Folk artist to perform

Contemporary folk artist Greg Greenway will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Ecumenical Christian Ministries building, 1204 Oread.

Greenway’s new CD, “Something Worth Doing,” features “Pride,” an adaptation of the U2 song “In the Name of Love.” Greenway wrote his adaptation after visiting the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tenn.

Mexico orchestra to perform at Lied

The National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico will perform Nov. 1 in Lawrence as part of the Lied Center of Kansas Concert Series.

The program, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will include “Tangazo” by Astor Piazolla, Symphonic Dances from “West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein and “La Noche de Los Mayas/The Night of the Mayas” by Silvestre Revueltas.
