A wreck Wednesday morning on the Kansas Turnpike west of Lawrence had traffic backed up in the westbound lanes.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers were on their way to investigate the accident about a mile west of Lecompton shortly after 9 a.m. but no information was available about possible injuries or vehicles involved, a patrol dispatcher said.

“It’s been raining and people are sliding around,” the dispatcher said.
