Bazaar features odd art

More than 60 Lawrence artists will be at the Bizarre Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

The show features unusual hand-crafted items such as fiber art, ceramics, glass beading, jewelry, bath salts, clocks, paintings, furniture and more.

A bake sale and two stages of live entertainment in genres such as gospel singing, bottle playing, bluegrass, Celtic fiddles and Middle Eastern ethnic dancing complement the arts show.

Craft fair benefits Indian powwow

The Pow Wow Committee will have a Christmas Extravaganza Craft Fair from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Holton Fairgrounds 4-H Building.

The fair will offer handmade crafts, gifts, raffles and more. Door prizes will be given in drawings all day, and proceeds from the fair go to the annual Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Pow Wow. Vendors may begin setting up at 6 a.m. Saturday.
